I've been away and I apologize. I hate it when work gets in the way of posting, keeping abreast of celebrity gossip, spending time with the fam. I was in Denver for a week at a work conference. To tell you the truth, I got kind of depressed. I'm not usually away from my family for that long and I missed them terribly. Also, there is only so much bonding you can do with your workmates. I work in an office by myself and I'm getting used to it. Too many people can get on my nerves!!

Anyhoo - tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I wonder what we will do. The husband has offered to make breakfast (I think this will entail a trip to Krispy Kreme) and I am making dinner. We are one of those couples that resist getting babysitters, so most activities must include the Boy, so we will stay in. I don't want to wait two hours with a two-year old, only to have him disapprove of the menu choices, run around, and scream at the top of his lungs. Not my idea of a romantic evening. Actually, I have no idea what my idea of a romantic evening would be. I rather enjoy watching tv with my family and having a picnic of take-out on the living room floor. Can't get much better than that!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

The Friday Five

1. Are you superstitious? No. Although I do avoid walking under ladders, stepping on cracks and opening umbrellas inside. But I think those are more habits left over from childhood.

2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition? Mostly in terms of athletes who will wear the same pair of smelling sweat socks when they are on a winning streak.

3. Believer or not, what's your favorite superstition? My favorite is when a building will call a floor the 14th floor when it is actually the 13th.

4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual? Yes. Nope.

5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not? No. I think horoscopes and things like that use such vague language that you can make them apply to any person in any situation.
